The Syrian army and Hezbollah has retaken control of several areas in eastern Ghouta region as the battle against foreign-backed terrorists continues in the country.
Syrian troops and Hezbollah have been engaged in operations to clear Ghouta of terrorists. The region is located near the capital, Damascus.
The Syrian army and Hezbollah also targeted terrorist hideouts in the Khan al-Sheikh district in western Damascus countryside.
Heavy clashes are underway in the Jobar district near the Syrian capital as well.
In recent months, Syrian forces and Hezbollah have managed to retake several terrorists-held areas around the capital.
Last month, Syrian troops and Hezbollah recaptured the strategic town of Adra northeast of Damascus, securing highways as well as an industrial zone on its outskirts.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011. Western powers and their regional allies - especially Qatar,Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey - are reportedly supporting the terrorists operating in Syria.
